The wait is finally over — Pokemon 30th Celebration has officially been revealed, and honestly? This set looks like it was built specifically to destroy collector wallets in the best possible way.
Between nostalgic reprints, shiny new rarities, guaranteed Pikachu cards, and a release celebrating three decades of Pokémon history, this set is shaping up to be one of the biggest Pokémon TCG releases we’ve seen in years.
Whether you collect sealed products, chase hits, or just want to relive the Base Set days, here’s everything we know so far.

What Is Pokemon 30th Celebration?
Pokemon 30th Celebration is the official Pokémon TCG anniversary set celebrating 30 years of the franchise. The set launches worldwide in September 2026 and appears designed to mix nostalgia with modern collecting.
Current details suggest:
- Around 150 cards including secret rares
- Nostalgic reprints from older eras
- Premium foil-heavy pack design
- Special Pikachu-themed collecting elements
If this sounds familiar, that’s because many collectors are comparing it to Celebrations from the 25th anniversary — but bigger.

New Pokemon Rarity Incoming
Pokemon 30th Celebration is also bringing something completely new to collectors: Futuristic Rare cards. These new chase cards feature bold, colorful artwork created by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN and seem designed to push Pokémon into its next era while still feeling special enough for collectors to hunt down. According to Pokémon, these cards are meant to showcase Pokémon through artwork inspired by hope and the unknown future — which honestly sounds like a fancy way of saying they’re probably going to look incredible and be very expensive on the secondary market.
Release Date for Pokemon 30th Celebration
The official worldwide launch date is currently scheduled for:
September 16, 2026
Additional products are expected to continue releasing throughout the year after launch.
Collectors should probably prepare early because anniversary sets historically disappear fast.

Where to Buy Pokemon 30th Celebration Items:
- Check with your local LGS to see about Pre-order Options
- TCGPlayer has some 30th Anniversary items currently (from Pokemon Day)
- Your locan Big Box Stores (Walmart, Target, etc) – yes there will be LINES so be prepared.
Every Pack Includes Pikachu (Yes, Seriously)
One of the wildest announcements so far?
Every booster pack includes a Pikachu card.

Not only that, but there are reportedly 30 different Pikachu cards to collect, matching the 30th anniversary theme. Packs are also expected to contain six cards with all cards being foil treatments.
This means:
- Pikachu collectors are in danger
- Master set collectors are in danger
- Your wallet is probably in danger
Honestly, Pokémon knew exactly what they were doing here.
Classic Cards Are Coming Back
The nostalgia factor seems cranked all the way up.
A special Classic Collection appears to include 30 reprinted cards pulled from across Pokémon TCG history with special anniversary treatments and Pikachu stamp branding. Early reveals and teases suggest cards like:
- Base Set Pikachu
- Base Set Charizard
- Crystal Lugia
- Shining Celebi
- Dark Tyranitar
- Pikachu & Zekrom GX

Pokemon doesn’t turn 30 every day, and The Pokémon Company clearly wants collectors to feel that.
With guaranteed Pikachu cards, nostalgic reprints, new rarities, and premium treatment throughout, Pokemon 30th Celebration could become one of the most memorable sets in modern TCG history.
Now excuse us while we start mentally preparing for preorder season.
What card are you hoping gets a reprint in Pokemon 30th Celebration?
